Hei,

Vi i styret i Oslo Spirituelle Filmklubb takker for alle innspill
og forslag til nye lokaler. Vi vil komme tilbake med mer info om
gjenopptagelse av våre vanlige visninger senere.


Vi har også en gledelig nyhet og invitasjon:
Vi arrangerer en gratis minivisning med innledning på Deichman
(Hovedbiblioteket i Arne Garborgs plass 4, rett ved
Regjeringskvartalet), torsdag 7. mars kl. 17:00. (Biblioteket
stenger kl. 19:00, derfor begynner vi såpass tidlig på kvelden.)

Dette er en dokumentar om den årlige Burning Man-festivalen i
Nevada-ørkenen i USA.

"Unless you're hip to the Bohemian life, you may not have heard
about this interesting phenomenon called The Burning Man. Every
year, artists, sculptures, spiritual types, and other assorted
characters living on the fringe gather together in the middle of
the Black Rock Desert in Nevada and build a city from the ground
up for their week-long festival/party. It takes a year to plan and
1300 volunteers to setup up the town's infrastructure and erect
the Burning Man statue that presides over the festivities. Then
the people come in all manner of fancily decorated vehicles,
bringing with them everything they need to survive a week in the
desert because the only commodities sold in the city are coffee
and ice. Each person that comes to Black Rock City brings
something to the festival the gift that they want to share with
the other festival-goers. The city has its own newspaper, radio
station, airport, and countless theme camps. For the past 8 years,
Doug Jacobson and his group of friends have been attending the
festival each for their own reasons: to share their music, explore
their own inner challenges, or just for the 6 non-stop days of
partying in the desert. They are a colorful bunch who provide
plenty of humor and angst as they go about their experiences. Each
year a theme is chose to inspire the artists and they definitely
arrive inspired. The art projects and sculptures are amazing,
beautiful, and often very elaborate and all of them are burned or
dismantled at the end of the week, because nothing stays behind at
Black Rock City, even the gigantic statue is torched in the
festival finale. To an outsider, the point of this festival might
seem like just an excuse for lots of fire and nudity, but the
documentary does try to capture the freedom of expression and joy
that comes from all these creative forces coming together."

INNLEDNINGEN:

Audun Wilhelmsen og Espen Andersen har begge deltatt på Burning
Man og vil innlede visningen. De vil fortelle om sine inntrykk fra
og kunstprosjekter på festivalen. De vil også fortelle om Burning
Man-arrangementer som har spredt seg rundt i verden -- også til
Sverige og Norge!

Audun er en nylig utdannet elektronikkingeniør som har stor
interesse for kunst og design. Han deltok på Burning Man for
første gang i 2012, og bidro med HappyGem, et kunstprosjekt basert
på et blinkende elektronisk halskjede som ved hjelp av radio kunne
kommunisere med andre halskjeder av samme type, og hvert halskjede
hadde sitt eget unike "digitale DNA". Når to personer med hver sin
HappyGem møttes og ga hverandre en klem så utvekslet de to
halskjedene sitt DNA med hverandre, og via genetiske algoritmer ga
dette et uttrykk for hvem du hadde møtt i løpet av festivalen.

Espen jobber som systemadministrator, og skal til Burning Man for
tredje gang på rad i 2013. Han har vært involvert i campen Malmart
som bygde den høyeste strukturen på playaen i 2012. Han startet
månedlige Burning Man-treff i Oslo etter sin første gang på
Burning Man siden han savnet et community blant burnere i Norge.


PRAKTISKE OPPLYSNINGER OM VISNINGEN:

Sted/adresse: Deichman -- Hovedbiblioteket i Arne Garborgs plass
4, rett ved Regjeringskvartalet.

Programmet begynner kl. 17:00. Møt gjerne opp i god tid, fra
kl. 16:30.

Visningen er gratis, og det er derfor ikke billetter eller
forhåndsreservasjon. Det er plass til maksimalt 35 personer i
lokalet, og vi vil derfor dele ut kølapper (nummererte
lodd-lapper) opp til nr. 35 etter først til mølla-prinsippet,
i tilfelle det skulle komme flere enn 35.

Det er kun unummererte plasser, så først til mølla får velge sete
først.

Etter filmvisningen samles en del av oss på kafe for å snakke om
filmen eller andre ting mellom himmel og jord. Valg av kafe og
felles avmarsj organiseres på/etter visningen.
